If you need to make some money fast and you have some things of value that you don’t mind parting with then consider selling them on Craigslist.  Craigslist.org is an online classified ad service where you can list things to sell.  In most cases it is free to list your items for sale and it usually only takes a few minutes to get your ads online.

Craigslist literally has tens of millions of users and is a great way to buy and sell things quickly on a local level.  The great thing about Craigslist is that you get paid in cash (do not accept checks) and since most transactions are local you are able to complete them quickly.

Just recently I listed my Kindle I on Craigslist and was able to make some quick cash which I then use to purchase a Kindle II.  It only took several days to find a buyer once I had placed my listing.  Once the buyer and I connected, we simply scheduled a time to meet to complete the sale. 

If you aren’t sure how much to charge for your item, just do some quick searches on Craigslist to see what other people in your area are charging for similar items. 

When posting something for sale, you should follow a few simple guidelines to increase your chance for a fast sale and quick cash.  First,  make sure to include a photograph if at all possible as people really like to see what the item looks like.  Second, include the price in the ad so people don’t have to contact you just to get the price.  Third, describe the item and provide details such as the color, size, brand name, age, condition etc.  Fourth, make it known if there is defect or flaw in the item so that you and the potential buyers don’t waste time.  After all, you’re looking to get some cash fast and there’s no point in wasting time by not being up front about the condition of the item.
